1890's Church Dedication Reenactment

Date: September 4, 2011 Time: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Event Description

"Have you ever wondered what it would have been like to go to church in the 1890's?"

Mark your calendar for Sunday, Sept 4th at 3:00 PM when Willow Church at the Reedsburg Area Historical Society’s Log Cabin Village will host a traditional mid-19th century service.

Step back in time and experience first hand an old-fashioned church service straight from the 1800s!

Pastor Christian will recreate a traditional Church Dedication complete with choir performances.  The reenactment will rededicate the Willow Church to service and begin a series of regular, traditional services in keeping with the log cabin time period.

Willow Church has been recreated from donations by churches of many denominations and no single denomination is represented for service reenactments.  However, while the minister endeavors to draw upon various ecclesiastical traditions, services will feel distinctively protestant, since this was the predominant religious tradition in this area and at that time in American history.
