Madison Area Technical College, 300 Alexander Ave., Reedsburg, is offering a class entitled "Cooking with Healthy Grains and Vegetables". Key components of Mediterranean cuisine include heart-healthy olive oil, protein-rich legumes, vegetables and whole grains with moderate amounts of wine and meat. The flavors are rich, and the health benefits for people choosing a Mediterranean diet are hard to ignore. This class will include an eclectic collection of recipes from around the Mediterranean. Learn how to create savory grain salads, soups and a variety of vegetable stews using local foods. Enjoy plenty of tasting! Muhammad Kharbush is the instructor. Cost is $35.50.
