Growing Hops as a Hobby

Date: October 10, 2017 Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Event Description Tuesday, October 10, 2017, 6-8 PM: Growing Hops as a Hobby, Madison College-Reedsburg Campus, 300 Alexander Ave. Reedsburg. When you think of hops, beer is generally the first thing to come to mind. However, hops have various uses, beyond brewing beer. Hops are easy to grow and will also attract many types of pollinators to your garden. This course will provide a brief history about hops, basic information about what is needed in order to grow them as a hobby, and tips for harvest, storage and use. Here's an interesting plant you might enjoy growing, whether you brew your own beer as a hobby or whether you just like to try your hand at growing something unusual in your garden. Gretchen Kruse is the instructor for this course and the cost is $17.50. To register for the class, stop by the college at 300 Alexander Ave, Reedsburg or call 608-524-7800 for materials.
