Sharing Shower for Safe Harbor Homeless Shelter

Event Description
St. John Lutheran Church, 307 6th Street, Reedsburg, is holding a Sharing Shower for Safe Harbor's Homeless Women's Shelter. Snacks, bars cookies etc. and beverages will be served. Board President Darcy Swiscz and Board Member Bunny Elz will show a 10-minute power point presentation that raises awareness of homelessness right in our own backyard. The staff at the shelter assist the women to write resumes, find a job and to find an apartment. When the women are ready to leave and start their life anew, they are provided with some of the basics needed to set up a new home, for example, cleaning supplies, bathroom, kitchen, laundry supplies.
As you may know, Safe Harbor lost much of what they had in storage in their basement to the Flood of 2018, and they need our help. It's always nice to start with new things, but gently used items would be welcome too such as bath and kitchen towels, dishes, bowls, basic spices, or anything you can think of to start a new home.Come support and learn more about this very important community program.
