"Building Lake Redstone" Documentary Screening at Reedsburg Library
Date: June 7, 2025
Time: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Event Description
Mark your calendars for the “Building Lake Redstone” documentary screening at the Reedsburg Public Library on Saturday June 7, at 11 a.m. The presentation is the first in a number of special events and regular programs scheduled for adults this summer at RPL.
“Building Lake Redstone” is a 79-minute film produced by Mike Marquardt and based on the book of the same title written by N. E. Isaacson, Steven Blakeslee and Don Grossnicle. The film continues the story started in the documentary “Big Creek Rising.” This second production covers such pivotal events as the removal of 10,000 trees from the lake site, the rerouting of numerous roads and the use of over 500,000 cubic yards of clay loam to build the dam. Many never-before-seen archival photos and documents are included in the film, along with modern day interviews of eye-witnesses to the project. Authors Don Grossnickle and Steve Blakeslee will be on hand to answer questions. There is no registration or fee required to attend this program.
