The Coulee Region Steel Band is a community group of 10-12 musicians from the LaCrosse area that love to play Caribbean music. It includes lead pans, double 2nds, triples, bass, an engine room (percussion) and a singer.

Native Presence Gallery, 412 1/2 Broadway, Wisconsin Dells, WI. This once utilitarian baskets have become prized art objects that are enjoyed by collectors from all over the world. This exhibition presents an array of historic and contempoary Ho-Chunk baskets from the collections of JoAnn Jones, Tom Jones and Michael Schmudlach.
There will be a special signing by the authors of People of the Big Voice: Photographs of Ho-Chunk Families by Charles Van Schaick, 1879-1942. Music by violinist Brenna Two Bears (Ho-Chunk). The exhibit will be available July 15-August 14, 2017.

The Summit Players are a traveling, seven member theatre company who present short, accessible, free Shakespeare workshops and performances to audiences around the state of Wisconsin. All the words in our shows belong to Shakespeare, there are just less of them. Summit Players Theater shows are produced with new cuttings of Shakespeare's scripts that become tight, approximately 75 minute shows of mayhem, character switches, and hilarity. |

The Man Mound Effigy Mound was recently designated a National Historic Landmark by the National Park Service. There will be exhibits & tours, 1 PM: Formal presentation of the National Historic Landmark Designation, Ho-Chunk Drum Group & Refreshments. Come celebrate this significant event at Man Mound County Park, near Baraboo, WI. NOTE: There will not be any public parking at Man Mound Park! Visitors must take shuttle buses from parking lots at the corner of Hwy 33 & Cty T on the east side of Baraboo. Buses begin running at 10 AM. | Jul 29 Peace Posts Dedication & Ribbon Cutting |
In 2016 the Wormfarm Institute brought Muneer Buhauddeen, BFA, from Milwaukee to Reedsburg to lead residents in a free workshop to create tiles for peace posts. Peace posts can be found throughout the world and carry significant meaning for the communities in which they are placed. What makes these four posts special is that Muneer worked directly with community members to bring forth their vision, guided their tile creation, and eventually set the tiles into the native-to-Wisconsin Black Locust posts.
The Reedsburg Revitalization Organization (RRO) applied for and was the recipient of a matching grant from the Sauk County UW Extension Arts & Culture Committee to help pay for the creation of the posts. The Wormfarm Institute oversaw the installation and was greatly assisted by the City of Reedsburg Recreation and Parks Department, Matt Scott, and City Staff.
There will be a dedication and ribbon cutting at City Park starting at 5 PM on Saturday, July 29, 2017. See you all there!

Saturday, July 29, 2017, 7-8:30 PM:The Friends of Mirror Lake State Park are hosting Earth, Music, Magic at Mirror Lake State Park, E10320 Fern Dell Rd, Baraboo! This is a fun, interactive and educational musical enrichment presentation featuring primitive musical instruments, from all over the world. An engaging performance highlighting songs, stories, humor and joyful spontaneous audience participation. Aspects of ecology, science, history, geography and musicology are interwoven into the program. Great fun for kids!
This is a free event but a State Vehicle Park Sticker is required. A flashlight and bug spray are recommended. We have rock seating at our outdoor amphitheater, but bring chairs or blankets if you like. Call 608-254-2333 if you have any questions.
