Jun 2    Plenke's Pond Kids Fishing Clinic
This park is designated for those under 16 years old, the handicapped and the elderly. Donated by Ken Plenke, this pond provides a great fishing experience. The Reedsburg Outdoor Club & Plenke's Pond Association sponsor a fishing clinic at this pond which has had great turnouts over the years. This clinic provides kids ages 6-12 with hands-on fishing (bring your own rod and reel), casting instruction and contest, fishing laws and identification and fishing and boating seminars. Door prizes, live bait and lunch provided. Adults and children are welcome to come the first Saturday in June at Plenke's pond.

Jun 4    Life Line Screening at Reedsburg United Methodist
Life Line Screening, a leading provider of community-based preventive health screenings, will provide their affordable, non-invasive and painless health screenings. Five screenings will be offered that scan for potential health problems related to: blocked arteries which is a leading cause of stroke; abdominal aortic aneurysms which can lead to a ruptured aorta; hardening of the arteries in the legs which is a strong predictor of heart disease; atrial fibrillation or irregular heart beat which is closely tied to stroke risk; and a bone density screening, for men and women, used to asses the risk of osteoporosis.

Monday, June 4, 2018, 4:30-6 PM: Reedsburg Area Medical Center, 2000 N Dewey Ave, Reedsburg, is offering QPR Training (Question, Persuade, Refer) training in the Lower Level Conference Room. Jodi Bruni with Sauk Public Health will be here several times in June to present this session. As a QPR-trained Gatekeeper you will learn to: Recognize the warning signs of suicide; Know how to offer hope; Know how to get help and save a life. This would be great for anyone form the community, front line staff, any staff that would have quick, early interactions with the public. This class will be offered again Wednesday, June 27, 2018, 7:30-9:00 AM & 10:00-11:30 AM. The County would be happy to set up a QPR training session for a larger number of people in a different location also, if that works better for you. Elementary students will enjoy this summer’s lineup of “Discovery Days” held on Thursdays at 2:00 p.m.  The program, designed for kids entering kindergarten through fifth grades, will feature Zumba, S.T.E.A.M. challenges, a Home Depot Building Project and a Drum Circle.  In “Reedsburg Readers,” book club participants will meet every other week to discuss and do projects related to a particular book.  Reedsburg Readers groups are open to kids entering second through fifth grades. Reedsburg Writers is open to all children and teens on Fridays at 10:00 a.m.

Thursday, June 7, 2018, 6-8 PM: Severe Weather-Causation and Identification, MATC Reedsburg Campus, 300 Alexander Ave. Reedsburg. Learn what conditions lead to severe weather in the Upper Midwest, how atmosphere ingredients come together to produce it, good resources to be prepared for it, and visual cues when viewing storms. Basics of instability, shear, atmospheric capping and vorticity will be explained in order to provide an understanding of how thunderstorms work and how they produce tornadoes, hail and strong straight-line winds. Thursday, June 7, 2018, 6:30 PM: Historian Peter Shrake will present the program "The Puckety Chute: The History of the Cazenovia and Southern Railroad" in the Community room at the Reedsburg Public Library, 370 Vine St, Reedsburg. The historic railroad that connected Cazenovia with LaValle was known as the "Puckety Chute" because of the sound made by the wheezing of the train's pistons. Jun 10    The Painted Forest
The Painted Forest/Edgewood College Second Sundays feature special events at Painted Forest which include free activities for all ages and abilities, Art and Science Activities, Docent Tours, Live Music Performances and a Local Food Vendor. The June 10th event is "Spheres of Life". 

Edgewood College maintains this restored folk art treasure by German painter Ernest Hupeden. Painted from 1899-1901, Hupeden's vivid, imaginative scenes cover the interior of Valton's historic Modern Woodmen of America meeting hall.

Elementary students will enjoy this summer’s lineup of “Discovery Days” held on Thursdays at 2:00 p.m.  The program, designed for kids entering kindergarten through fifth grades, will feature Zumba, S.T.E.A.M. challenges, a Home Depot Building Project and a Drum Circle.  In “Reedsburg Readers,” book club participants will meet every other week to discuss and do projects related to a particular book.  Reedsburg Readers groups are open to kids entering second through fifth grades. The Mississippi Valley Dutchmen have secured one of the finest names in old time music, playing the traditional "Dutchmen Style" music. Concerts in the Park are held from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at the City Park Band Shelter on N. Join the Able Trek Tour to Old World Wisconsin which has a vivid re-creation of the working farmsteads and settlements established by European immigrants. Discover teams of oxen and horses working in the fields, the farm folk preparing hearty meals over wood-burning stoves, and the heirloom plants in well-tended gardens. Stroll through the Crossroads Village and chat with the town blacksmith or the keeper of the general store. Discover the true spirit of early Wisconsin. We'll begin our visit with a narrated tram tour of the grounds. The rest of the day you can leisurely walk and/or have unlimited access to a tram which runs continually throughout Old World Wisconsin. Jun 27    Concert in the Park: Swing Time Music Jazz Band
Swing Time Music Jazz Band is featured tonight. Concerts in the Park are held from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at the City Park Band Shelter on N. Park Street between 2nd and 3rd Streets.  Concessions are available at the park on concert nights.  In the event of rain, concerts are moved to the CAL Center auditorium at Reedsburg High School if available or the RACA Building in Nishan Park.

Friday, June 29, 2018, 8 AM-4 PM: Adult Mental Health First Aid Training is being offered at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center, 2000 N Dewey Ave, Reedsburg, in the Lower Level Education Room. Did you know you're more likely to experience someone in a mental or emotional crisis than someone having a heart attack? This course teaches a 5-step action plan to offer initial help to people with the signs and symptoms of a mental illness or in a crisis, and connect them with the appropriate professional, peer, social, or self-help care.
