Monday, July 29, 2019: Reedsburg Area Helping Hands is Collecting School Supplies for children in the Reedsburg School District thru Labor Day-Sept 3rd. Look for donation boxes in many of the Reedsburg businesses & churches or call Rita Mead (608) 524-2522 to arrange for pick up. RAHH representative will make sure donations will be taken to the School Administration Office. All donations stay in the Reedsburg School District. Please help us meet the needs of underprivileged children is our Reedsburg schools.

Out turn around point is a small spring fed stream where we have spotted dragonflies, damselflies and some whirligig water insects. Former Governor Martin Schreiber will present a program about his book "My Two Elaines: Learning, Coping and Surviving as an Alzheimer's Caregiver". Governor Schreiber’s life radically changed when his wife Elaine was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease eleven years ago, when the couple had been married fifty years. According to the website, www.mytwoelaines.com, Elaine would “gradually transform from the woman who gracefully entertained in the Executive Residence to one who no longer recognizes him as her husband.” This began a journey of caring, understanding, and advocating that would lead Schreiber to write the book, initially published in 2017.

We will explore various ways of diversifying bouquets with an abundance of dahlias, zinnias, and textures, and we will also talk about drying blooms and using succulents to extend the season of floral design beyond Wisconsin’s growing limitations. Our design demonstrations will highlight compotes and other vessels beyond the standard vertical vase, so bring along a medium size vessel to flex your spatial design skills. This is a great opportunity for both aspiring and seasoned florists looking to hone skills, share ideas, in an environment of luminous inspiration and camaraderie.
